0 for 2 on new deadlines

Revising papers always takes longer than expected. I tried to totally redo the formalism for the family paper, and ended up just understanding better why it's done in the current unsatisfying way.

However, I've revised quant-ph/0412126 in response to a new referee report, though am holding off on posting the new version to the arxiv until I hear from Debbie.

The corresponding thesis chapter (last half of chap 4) has also been revised, and a new draft of the thesis posted.
